Voitsberg, Austria - In August over 50 youth minigolfers from 10 countries will compete over 5 days at the bi-annual Youth World Championships.  This event, played over two courses at the BGC Lipizzanerheimat Minigolfanlage Voitsberg, will have minigolfers 19 years old and under competing in male and female strokeplay and matchplay categories, as well as male and female national team strokeplay and mixed pairs strokeplay.  BGC Lipizzanerheimat was last home to the 2022 European Championships General Class.

Official practice begins on August 2 and the first day of competition is August 6, completing on August 10 with the individual match play finals for the top 32 boys and top 16 girls . The youth minigolfers will try to conquer both a feltgolf course as well as the indoor miniaturegolf course located at the complex.

It is expected that the minigolfers from Germany will be strong in the leaderboards after great shows in the past Youth World Championship but also the 2023 Youth European Championship in Vergiate, Italy where they took multiple top titles. It is also expected for the Czech and Swedish minigolfers to be strong and eyes will be on the Austrian youth to see how they fare on their home courses.

“It will be interesting to see how the players navigate the tight indoor miniaturegolf course and the challenging outdoor felt, which in theory should favour the Swedes, as they are traditionally the top nation for this system,” remarked Maciej Mądrowski, WMF Vice President Youth.

More information about the tournament details including format of the various events can be found in the official invitation.
